ECCO Fundraiser October 25th at Juanita Greenberg’s in Mount Pleasant
Local recipient of ECCO services organizes fundraiser to give back to the organization
Mount Pleasant, SC – A fundraiser for East Cooper Community Outreach (ECCO) will be held at Juanita Greenberg’s on Coleman Boulevard in Mount Pleasant on Tuesday, October 25th from 5pm – 7pm. The event, Getting Ahead by Giving Back, is being organized by a local recipient of ECCO’s services, Shari Chavez Ergle, who recently completed ECCO’s Getting Ahead workshop which is aimed at providing participants the proper tools to combat poverty and increase financial independence. Gail Montgomery, ECCO Director of Getting Ahead Family Partnership, says, "I am so grateful to Shari for organizing and hosting this fundraiser. Her enthusiastic support of the Getting Ahead program is a testament to the profound impact the program has had on the women who have participated. With Shari's help we'll be able to reach even more women."Chavez, who is an independent sales representative for Silpada Designs jewelry, will be taking online orders for the gift certificates and jewelry line and selling gift certificates and jewelry during the event to donate 100% of the profit from these sales to the organization. On why she felt the need to give back to the organization, Chavez commented, “In a split second my world was turned upside down and I quickly had to learn to become more independent and take care of me and my family. I discovered the ECCO Getting Ahead program. They were there when I needed them the most. They helped me find my inner strength and inspiration to move forward. I have been blessed and I am very grateful for the program and all the wonderful people that volunteer at ECCO to help our community.”
There are several methods for people to help generate funds and supplies during the event:
- Place an order for Silpada Designs jewelry or a gift certificate through Chavez’ website www.MySilpada.com/Shari.ChavezErgle. Chavez’ entire profit, which is 30% of all sales, will be donated to ECCO.
- Chavez will be selling Silpada Designs jewelry and gift certificates during the event and donating all profits to ECCO. She will also donate free jewelry earned through sales to her Getting Ahead classmates.
- Juanita Greenberg’s will donate a percentage of all sales from 5pm until 7pm on Tuesday October 25th.
- Juanita Greenberg’s will have a dry or canned food donation box located inside the restaurant now through the event.
